Joyce’s Cabbage Patch Stew

1 lb hamburger
1 can chili hot beans
1 large onion, chopped
1 can red kidney beans
1 cup celery, chopped
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 can chicken broth
1 large can (jumbo) tomatoe juice
3 cups chopped cabbage
WHAT’S THIS!!! all purpose seasoning (to taste)

Saute onion, celery and bell pepper. Add meat. Cook until brown. Drain. Pour tomato juice and beans into a large pot. Add the meat mixture. Bring to a boil then add 1 can diced tomatoes, if you like. Cook for 30 min. Good with cornbread or crackers. I also like to add thinly sliced Italian or Polish sausage and I have used chicken broth instead of tomatoe juice for the base liquid.
